Resistencia, Chaco, Argentina, 10 April 2026—The official launch of the ICLAFI–ICOMOS International Symposium, Chaco 2026, brought together leading public authorities from the Province of Chaco, including members of the Legislative Branch and the Municipality of Resistencia. Also attending were representatives from the Institutes of Culture and Tourism; Fundación Urunday; the Faculty of Arts, Design and Cultural Sciences of the National University of the Northeast; ICOMOS Argentina; and the International Scientific Committee for Legal, Administrative and Financial Issues (ICLAFI) of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS).
The presentation highlighted the significance of holding this international meeting in South America, strengthening dialogue between heritage, art, public space, and territorial governance. The strong institutional participation reaffirmed the relevance of the Chaco gathering as a milestone for ICLAFI’s work in the region and helped build momentum toward the Symposium in July 2026.
Simposio ICLAFI, Chaco 2026, lanzado oficialmente
Resistencia, Chaco, Argentina, 10 de abril de 2026—El lanzamiento institucional del Simposio Internacional ICLAFI–ICOMOS, Chaco 2026 reunió a destacadas autoridades públicas de la Provincia del Chaco, incluyendo representantes del Poder Legislativo, la Municipalidad de Resistencia, los Institutos de Cultura y Turismo, la Fundación Urunday, la Facultad de Artes, Diseño y Ciencias de la Cultura de la Universidad Nacional del Nordeste, ICOMOS Argentina e ICLAFI–ICOMOS.
La presentación puso de relieve la importancia de realizar este encuentro internacional en Sudamérica, fortaleciendo el diálogo entre patrimonio, arte, espacio público y gobernanza territorial. La sólida participación institucional reafirmó la relevancia del encuentro de Chaco como un hito para el trabajo de ICLAFI en la región y contribuyó a consolidar el impulso hacia el Simposio de julio de 2026.
